From [2008.07.28] first ride

  • gassing up in the morning, you can barely see the hill that i'm about to climb.
  • i spent most of the morning "posing" the bike, to get pics of it.
  • i felt like a complete dork attempting to "pose" on the bike, while it was stopped.

before that morning, i didn't even know this reservoir was there.
  • upside... i like the framing of the shot. downside... you can see the dents in the tank.
  • taken a few days after the first of the set, bringing a friend (who got his bike the same day as me) to experience how much fun this road is.

  • going up the hill, it just progresses into sweeping twisties, with this u-turn as the one of the first major corners.<br />

  • mooo!
  • i stopped to get another (slightly closer) picture of the snow atop mount hamilton, and as i did, this hawk came out to play, circling for almost five minutes on the updrafts.
  • in the background, that's mount hamilton covered in a thin layer of snow. snow is not something we see very often in the bay area.
  • curves like these are why i ride this road over and over and over...
